Geography
Located in the East Region, Sengkang District is bounded by Buangkok Drive and Yio Chu Kang Road to the south, Seletar Expressway (SLE) to the west, Tampines Expressway (TPE) to the north and Sungei Serangoon to the east. It covers an area of approximately 972 hectares with an estimated population of 171,300 as of June 2011.

Division
Sengkang District comprises 1 New Town (Sengkang) and 1 Estate (Jalan Kayu). In total, Sengkang District is sub-divided into 7 neighbourhoods.

Sengkang New Town encompass 972 hectares and is divided into 5 neighbourhoods, namely Rivervale (Neighbourhood 1), Compassvale (Neighbourhood 2), Anchorvale (Neighbourhood 3), Fernvale (Neighbourhood 4) and Buangkok.

Jalan Kayu Estate contains 2 neighbourhoods, namely Jalan Kayu and Seletar West.
