Geography
Located 10 to 13km north of the City in the North Region, Ang Mo Kio District is bounded by the Central Water Catchment to the west, Seletar Expressway (SLE) and Yio Chu Kang Road to the north, Serangoon North Industrial Estate and Central Expressway (CTE) to the east, and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 to the south. It covers an area of approximately 1,700 hectares with an estimated population of 190,700 as of June 2011.

Division
Ang Mo Kio District comprises 1 New Town (Ang Mo Kio) and 4 Estates (Sembawang Hills, Lentor, Yio Chu Kang and Seletar Hills). In total, Ang Mo Kio District is sub-divided into 13 neighbourhoods.

Ang Mo Kio New Town encompass 638 hectares and is divided into 7 neighbourhoods, namely Neighbourhood 1, Neighbourhood 2, Neighbourhood 3, Neighbourhood 4, Neighbourhood 5, Neighbourhood 6 and Neighbourhood 7.

Sembawang Hills contains 2 neighbourhoods, namely Sembawang Hills and Old Upper Thomson.

Lentor Estate contains 2 neighbourhoods, namely Lentor and Teacher's Estate.
