Pasir Panjang Road
Pasir Panjang is Malay for "long sandy beach". The road is laid out by J.T. Thomson and it reached the Jurong River by 1850.

Pasir Panjang Estate
Malay villages used to dot the coastline with fishing and small scale agriculture as the main economic activities. Developments in the area only took place after the war in the 1950s as the area began to take on a suburban character with seaside bungalows built along the coastline. The sea and facilities such as Haw Par Villa has made Pasir Panjang a popular recreational area.

Pasir Panjang Village
Pasir Panjang Village is filled with food stores serving chicken pies and famed boneless duck rices or slake the thirst over a cold lager at one of the pubs in the complex. Due to its popularity, parking at Pasir Panjang Village is a hassle but the softly-fragrant food is worth the effort.
