Geography
Located west of the City in the Central Region, Bukit Merah District is bounded by the Jong Fairway and Alexandra Road to the west, Singapore River (Alexandra Canal) to the north, Kim Seng Road, Outram Road, Singapore General Hospital, Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) and the East Keppel Fairway to the east. It covers an area of approximately 1,858 hectares with an estimated population of 148,500 as of June 2011.

Division
Bukit Merah District incorporates 1 New Town (Telok Blangah), 4 Estates (Tiong Bahru, Bukit Ho Swee, Redhill / Henderson and Alexandra) and 2 Sub-Districts (Keppel Harbour and the Southern Islands). In total, Bukit Merah District is sub-divided into 25 neighbourhoods and 6 offshore islands.

Of which, Telok Blangah New Town is divided into 7 neighbourhoods, namely Neighbourhood 1, Neighbourhood 2, Neighbourhood 3, Neighbourhood 4 (Depot Road), Bukit Merah Town Centre, Bukit Purmei and Mount Faber.

Tiong Bahru Estate contains 3 neighbourhoods, namely Tiong Bahru, Kampong Tiong Bahru and Membina.

Bukit Ho Swee Estate contains 2 neighbourhoods, namely Bukit Ho Swee and Havelock.

Redhill Estate contains 5 neighbourhoods, namely Redhill, Redhill Extension, Henderson, Henderson North and Brickworks.

Alexandra Estate contains 2 neighbourhoods, namely Alexandra Industrial Estate and Alexandra North.

Keppel Harbour Sub-District incorporates 5 neighbourhoods, namely Tanjong Pagar Port, Keppel Port, Brani Port, Labrador Park and Harbourfront.

The Southern Islands Sub-District is separated into 1 neighbourhood (Sentosa) and the Southern Islands Group, which comprises 6 offshore islands (Pulau Tekukor, Pulau Seringat, Kusu Island, Lazarus Island, St John's Island and Sisters' Islands).
